The first institution made by God was the Family even though it consisted of only two people; the husband Adam and his wife Eve.
Genesis 2:22-24 says “And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
The family was ordained by God as we can see in Genesis chapter 2. If we believe God's word, we can see that God sanctioned the traditional marriage of one man and one woman regardless of how society tries to change it. God’s way and his word will always be the only acceptable way to please him.
The family grows as children are born or adopted into it. Psalms 127: 3 “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” Genesis 1:28 God told Adam and Eve to “be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.”
The best family structure is a two-parent household; however, whether it is a two-parent or a single-parent home, to have God’s best, we must obey God’s word.
We as saints are privileged to be born into the kingdom of God as well as adopted into God’s family. If you have not been born into God’s family, our Heavenly Father is ready and willing to adopt you as well. Romans 8:15-17 “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”
