FOUNDERS
In May of 2010, God dealt with Pastor Simon and Co-Pastor Cheryl Collier about starting their own Ministry after a month of visiting various churches. The name “Living Water Ministry” was founded based on the revelation in Scripture (John 7:38) “He that believeth on me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” The motto was “Come and be Refreshed by God’s Living Water.”
The Ministry began on the 1st Sunday in June of 2010 in their home with their three children. It consisted of Sunday School, Prayer Meeting, and Tuesday Night Bible Study. On the 1st Sunday in July of 2010, Sunday Morning Worship Service was added. Three other people joined them for House Church.
They began doing Outreach Ministry at Joe Pritchard Homes, Canton Estates, and Canton Family Units during the summer months. They used their vehicle to pick up people for Bible Study, Sunday School, and Sunday Service. The Word of God was taught and preached. The Holy Ghost would fall on the people during the Services right there in their living room. People would get saved, healed, delivered, set free. Some were baptized in Jesus’ name outside the house in the driveway in an aluminum cattle trough.
People would come and go, but God would always send a replacement. Periodically God would send someone by to fellowship and encourage them in the Lord. God told them “be faithful and do what I’ve called you to do.” He told them “despise not small beginnings," and "if you be faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many.” God has been faithful.
The second location at 628 E. Center Street in Canton was transformed from an old pizza restaurant/office into a church in September of 2012. In the spring of 2017, Sunday Service was held temporarily in a community room at an apartment complex. Living Water Ministry was built in 2018 located at 1765 Hwy 22, Canton, MS.
